Park Rules
Visitors to our park are expected to act in a safe, responsible manner and we hope you enjoy your stay. The following rules have been established as a matter of convenience and to provide information about the park.
· No alcoholic beverages of any kind are allowed on park premises including the parking lot. Violators will be ejected immediately. ZERO TOLERANCE.
· No fighting. Violators will be ejected immediately. ZERO TOLERANCE
· No outside food or coolers are permitted in the park with the exception of water coolers containing only water. This includes the parking lot.
· No smoking on the field or in the bench areas.
· No firearms are permitted on park property. ZERO TOLERANCE
· No illegal drugs are permitted on park property. ZERO TOLERANCE
· No pets are allowed. You will be asked to leave if found with pets in the park.
· No roller blades, skateboards, scooters or bicycles are allowed in the park.
· No metal cleats on sidewalks or parking lots.
· No hitting balls into fences
· No climbing on trees or fences.
· No profanity is permitted anywhere on park grounds.
· No parking in spaces reserved for staff, board, umpires or handicapped. Violators parking in these areas or in fire lanes will be towed at their expense without notice.
· No parking in grass areas unless both parking lots are full.
· No harassment of umpires, players or coaches at any time. Umpires are human and will make mistakes just as you or your own child will make mistakes. It is unlikely you want anyone to scream or harass your child. Why harass someone else’s child? Harassment is grounds for ejection from the park.
We reserve the right to eject anyone from the park, who in our sole judgment, is displaying conduct deemed detrimental to the activities of the park and it’s intended purpose. It appears we have quite a list of what not to do. However, they are common sense rules designed to make everyone’s experience here as pleasant as possible. Our park has a concession stand complete with restrooms at the front of the park near field #16 and another stand with restrooms near field #10. Both are equipped with first aid kits and ice for emergencies along with lost and found. A defibrillator is located on the wall just inside the doors facing field #10. In the unlikely event you have an emergency, observe improper behavior or otherwise need to talk to the board member on duty, simply contact the nearest concession stand for assistance. The stands and staff members are in contact via radio and will assist you as soon as possible. Thank you for visiting the park and we hope you enjoy your stay.
Background Check Policy
Tealtown Ballpark is appreciative of the contribution volunteers bring to our park and welcome their participation. The board believes volunteers provide a vital resource to our community and we thank you for your efforts. However, to promote a safe environment for our children, we have determined we will follow the parameters of the Ohio Revised Code on criminal background checks for volunteers, managers/head coaches, assistant coaches and employees of the park.
In line with local school district and other sports venues, we are requiring every manger/coach and assistant coach provide the park with proof of a background check as prescribed in the State of Ohio BCI program or a current Archdiocese of Cincinnati youth card.
Should a background check reveal a conviction of one of the following offenses, we will not reveal which offense is on your record but we will notify the parents/guardians of the children on your team that you have been convicted of a proscribed offense unacceptable to the park.
At that time, you will no longer be permitted to hold a position at the park. If you feel your record is in error, you may apply to have your record expunged. However, until this occurs, you will not be permitted to hold any volunteer position at the park. Your child may continue to participate on the team and you may observe from the stands. You are not permitted to assist or be with the team either on the field or in the bench area.
In the event a conviction is over 20 years old, you may come before the board and request an exception. Exceptions are at the sole discretion of the board.
